face the music?

June 17, 2002 @ 12:06 am

Well, Sunday was the wedding, and what a wedding it was. Unlike most Sundays, my day started an additional 2-3 hours earlier than usual, if only because I had a lot more prep work I had to go through in order to get ready. You know, slacks, dress shirt, shit tons of A/V equipment... the usual. o.O

In all honesty I had planned to write a lot, so any of you in the local area, remind me to do it tomorrow morning when I am awake. Please?…

something coming closer

June 09, 2002 @ 08:06 pm

It's going to be hard to top my write up on the con, so I am not even going to try. I spent today out in the sun helping the parents set up a very large canopy that is supposed to cover the boat. The white thing is perfectly placed right outside my window blocking the sun (yay) and everything else (boo). I also started in on making a survey, and finished it. If you have a moment, you should go try it and see how the results come up. I did a lot of the work based on color recognition theory, and I am really eager to know how it turns out, and if it is a good match or not. Sometimes, the secondary colors come up higher, but not usually. The trick is to pick without even thinking. Simply go "I like this one" and click. If you are looking at them for more than 3 seconds, then you aren't going with instinct. :)

Outside of that, I couldn't go to ReccaCon for the second day (stupid parents) so now I am in overdrive for AX. I just realized how much stuff I have left to do, including calling Sheyne to try and get the group together to record the audio track and burn it onto CD. (Oh how I am so thankful I will not be in the skit, just doing the running, writing, and hopefully no more). ^_^ I feel the time though, and I think it is an after-effect of running around crazy on Saturday. Ah well. Here comes Monday.…

mid morning mayhem

June 05, 2002 @ 08:06 am

I can't believe Recca is coming so quickly. I should probably email and see if they still need help (in terms of volunteers). I don't know... I sometimes wonder if I am some kind of crazy nut that thinks helping make these successful from the inside is a lot of work and a lot of fun. I plan to be there for the 8th, and I also plan to be up nice and early for the drive. It's not too terribly far. :) I am hoping I can get some of the Dragon Fang Gang Cosplay Group (read: the people who I am going to AX with) to go and hang out and stuff. I am a big fan of the really small cons, especially since they are A) cheaper, B) have generally good people. It's not to say you don't find nice people at the bigger conventions, it's just that the number of idiots goes up exponentially for every 1,000 or so people you cluster in a location.

I am almost done with the second phase of programming the ASAP Kiosk. Once I get everything set up, I have to go back and do touchup jobs on all of it, and then do a bunch of beta testing to make sure it works. To do that, I am going to need the student name list out of our Banner Web for Summer term from Marc. Which, of course, means I have to make a trip down to Monterey. I am hoping to head down that way about the 18th or so and stay down there until the 22nd. Hopefully I can go back up through Marin or something and do some wig shopping for future cosplay. You know, all those little projects you work on in your spare time. Speaking of spare time, I think someone ate it.…

spinning around and around

June 02, 2002 @ 10:06 pm

It is going to take a bit of effort for me to type this, as I am currently fighting a headache I am sure is the result of stress or something like that. The real issue is if a pineapple rum & coke is really the cure for it or not. Probably not, but that's okay.

I woke up a little later than I had planned, but I managed to get out to Kinko's and do a little bit of shopping. I will be going tomorrow to get my Jigen shirt, and so that is always good. I will also be emailing my resume to Paul Wright, and call him tomorrow morning, which adds to the goodness that is abound. Hopefully that will go well, and the result will (eventually) be a job. I also hope to get the Slayers script to Heather so she can look over it and make it sound more like the characters. I am just responsible for the conceptual scripting.…
