funny people

May 28, 2003 @ 08:05 pm

You people amuse me. Yes, you people who read this thing. No, not all of you, but certain people in particular who can be grouped into two major types:

1) people who visit this site after telling me they hate me / my wallpapers / my layouts / my code / my dog / my being born in October / etc. You tell me you hate me, and my hit logs say you are back again the very next day looking at me spew paragraphs of my bullshit onto the web. The "why" is a mystery, but it makes for interesting games to pass the time. After all, you know your misspelled hate mail where I "fuk a cock wore" just nags me all day. I think I may just add a filter to my mailbox that automatically discards any message containing "ur". Additionally, I am going to add "1337", "fuxor", "cat", "dog", and "roach". Consider yourself warned.…

A little bit of geek, a little bit of grad

May 27, 2003 @ 10:05 am

Okay, Tuesday, we need to talk. You can't be here yet, because I need my Monday back. This weekend was far too much too quickly, and I think only this morning do I feel somewhat myself again. I was up and moving at 6:30 am on Saturday, which for those who know how I sleep meant I got about 3 hours or so before trekking to Fort Ord Stadium for the CSUMB Graduation. It was cold, threatening to rain, but overall pretty good. I got to see a lot of my friends walk across, and I was amused by the protest towards the Chancellor that took place during his keynote address. After the ceremony I tracked down as many people as possible to congratulate them, and was able to find most of the people I wanted to. I couldn't find Aimee or Mark though, which kind of sucked. At the end of the recessional, it is utter chaos down on the field. I think next year I will just tell my family to stay put and I will go to them. 800 people do not fit on an Astroturf field very well, especially when all of them are trying to reach their graduates.

After the festivities, more festivities were had. Jessica and I drove up to Santa Cruz with her family to eat at the Saturn Cafe. That went really well, and over the meal I was slowly introduced to everyone. I remember most of the names of the people my age, but many of the older adults who I didn't talk to much aren't sticking with me anymore. After I had my Chix Patty "Fine Burger", it was off to the Boardwalk. Before I cover that in detail, I should probably explain my experience with amusement parks. See, they and I don't mix very well. Well, they didn't used to. Back in 7th Grade I went with a club to Great America, and even the simplest of rides scared me. 8th grade, that same trip was a breeze because I was paired with Chris Johnson, who at the time also had an equal aversion to rides. With time, I got better about the "holy shit this thing is a suicide train" mentality, and started to enjoy rides more. The last park I went to was Great America with Gretchen and Karen. The fear of rides were gone, excepting one. I don't mind being upside down, but any ride that has you hanging upside down for an extended period of time makes me want to curl up and wish it away. This would also include rides like the Revolution, which I refuse to go on even now. You can guess one of the rides I went on by now. It was the first, and will be the last time I do any hanging upside down rides. No, I wasn't sick, but so much blood had rushed to my head I had a headache that went well into Monday morning. I have also added "looking up and seeing the ground" to my list of experiences I really don't care for.…

I suddenly can’t see myself in a year’s time

The hour says "sleep", the Dr Pepper says "write" and when it comes down to Dr Pepper or sleep, you know which one is going to win.

I lied, the Dr Pepper was drank, but sleep still won in a surprising upset over caffination.…

On My Mind

May 22, 2003 @ 01:05 pm

This has been grating on me for a few days now, and I still don't know what to make of it. I heard someone say this over AIM, in person, and in IRC over the past 4-5 days.

Men don't like women who have a habit of saying intelligent things.

Ready Touch Ready Dash

And just like that, it was over. I was originally planning on taking an entire entry to look back on this past year, but I have done more than enough looking back.

This summer is shaping up to be interesting. I am going to try my damndest to stick it down here in Monterey as long as possible, so that this Friday I can get some very important paychecks; the kind that give me some much needed money for bills and cons.…

Variety is the spice of life, redundancy the bread

May 19, 2003 @ 11:05 am

Remember the roommate I bitch about because they eat my food, don't clean up, and is really good about pushing my buttons? Yeah, he had a bike accident yesterday. His arm is fucked up pretty good and he's going home to Nebraska to get it operated on.

Lots of people have already moved back home, away from Monterey. It's getting quiet here fast. I'm living on $1.02 in the bank until this Friday, where I get two paychecks since the school fucked up and forgot I worked for them or something crazy like that.…

Something Not Right

May 13, 2003 @ 07:05 am

I awoke this morning with a start, bad dream fading away. I'm writing it down now so I don't forget...

It somehow was the forrest from the chuunin story arc (from Naruto), and I was where Sakura was (near Sauske and Naruto). Only it wasn't those two. I have no idea who they were, but they were my friends. I turned forward.…

Fake Plastic Submarine

May 13, 2003 @ 02:05 am

Right, so I am a bit up on sugar right now, a bit low on emotions, and probably should be well and over some things by now. I should crawl up in my bed, pop Link's Awakening into my GBA SP and ignore the crap I had to sift through in boxes in order to get to it. My mom doesn't need to know her keeping these things bothers me; it seems important to her after all. The old Game Boy games stick out a bit, but they are every bit as fun as before, color or not.

I finished most of my finals yesterday, and I had very little pressing business today. As a result, I got a bit more work done during the class hours and had the evening free. So after my 6-10p class, Chris, Michelle, and I went to get food and then came back here to watch Naruto 32. We added to this Wolf's Rain 1-3, and I think I hooked them on it. (oops?) Towards the end of the episode, I had to deal with some things and then took Chris and Michelle back to the dorm. Summer is going to be pretty quiet here in Monterey. I think I might be splitting my time between Roseville and the bay quite a bit, especially if Joel and Chris are going to be home over summer. Quiz from Hichan I AM: Jakob, and I work too hard. ^^…

Look!  Over There!

Cosplay Thoughts: I need to go to home depot today and see what kind of plastic I can find. The idea for the broadsword was a success, only far too heavy to counterbalance. Let me see if I can explain the way it works.

Plate Your Food

May 08, 2003 @ 05:05 am

So yeah, these finals things? Ethics is wrapped up, C++ will be done by Friday, and hopefully I will do my 361 on Sunday. I am going to be short a few days since I am due at home this weekend. I seem to have a good grip on everything, though this is going to be my second all nighter in a row. (Was it my third? Hell I don't know anymore.) Anyway, onto the whole reason I write in this thing, to entertain; even if the only person I entertain is myself.

Today's discussion has to do with strange English language. A few days ago, a couple of us ate at KFC (the alternative was shitty DC food) and we ordered our food and ate our meal. The story about the manager and the story about the 1/2 gallon cup for $1.29 will have to wait. Instead, I have a small little story about those little pieces of paper that you get on your tray to help them clean up the mess. You know, the piece of paper that usually has advertisements on it, and you don't read it because you used it to hold your catchup so you could dip your fries. Yeah, that one. Anyway, as I looked down to see what was really on the tray, I saw a phrase that caught my eye. Please see the image:…

That Crazy Pirate Crew (p1)

May 05, 2003 @ 07:05 pm

kaizoku-fansubs is an interesting place. I am still trying to get used to the IRC distribution along with BitTorrent, and am not used to checking my CRCs before sending stuff along. In a lot of ways, this has been a really new experience for me full of ups and downs. So how in the heck did I get back into the IRC thing? Well, I was showing Cyn how to do some DCC things, was trying to remember half of the commands, stuck around, and one day just injected myself into the conversation. Since then I have come to know some of the regulars in K-F a bit better although there is a lot I don't know yet. More for my own records than anything else... …

Well Damn

May 02, 2003 @ 10:05 pm

Okay, so gaming tonight was fine, and everyone had their fun and now we are in that warm afterglow obtainable only by being geeks. And yet, I can't help but be annoyed at my current situation. Two people need rides back, and that's fine; but one of my roommates has convinced them to go get food first. Furthermore, he needs one of us to pay for him since he doesn't have cash. Enough about that though, let's move on.

There is a new person on the portals, and this would be Fi-Sta. You should go visit her page, look at her art and things like that; she's pretty cool. I have given up for now on the BAAS site since it doesn't seem like I can get ahold of the person I need to. Instead, I have turned my attention to the page for California Anime Clubs, which is in need of a new look and feel. I was hoping to have it finished by the first, but finals and final projects blind sided me.…
