Got a call about.. I don't know... 8 or so this night from my mother. Apparently she and my father got into an accident en route (not sure to or from) Hastings Island. The dodge neon was going far too fast into a 25 mph corner, hit the breaks, skidded across the double yellow line, and hit my parent's Tundra head on.
Nobody was hospitalized, and it doesn't sound like anyone was badly hurt. The Neon was totaled, the Tundra tweaked. The airbags apparently didn't deploy for whatever reason. That aside, however, they are alive.…
Sad day to be gay?

Much like the us-wide reaction to bans on interracial marriages back in the 1960's, we once again see emerging the hatred of change and acceptance. Call it what you want, and don't call it the M word, that's fine. However, when a state bars any legal union or partnership occurring as same sex, you are discriminating. For example, in the state of Ohio, United Health Care can now deny coverage to a beloved's spouse, simply because they are the same sex, and the Ohio measure bars any legal ruling that "intends to approximate marriage." No tax breaks, no claiming dependant, no life insurance, no health insurance.
On the plus side, they won't be factoring into the steadily rising divorce numbers. Indeed, it is a sad day. Maybe California in their gung-ho spending will determine that sexual preference, much like skin pigmentation, is not something you choose. Maybe then, the issue will come to the ballots again. Until then, it looks like it is going to be fought in the courts.…
