Ladder Theory and the Fifty Percent Rule

January 23, 2005 @ 06:01 pm

The 50% theory is a concept that was developed about 5 years ago after my friend Sarai on the East Coast and I had a long discussion on the Ladder Theory from Intellectual Whores. The system makes sense, to an extend. Let's look at their breakdown of categories:

Attraction: 40% Things...But Don't: 10% Money/Power: 50%…

Protecting Blogger’s Rights, plus iPod Shuffle

January 12, 2005 @ 01:01 am

It's been in the news, the announcement that Apple is sending legal threats to popular weblogs connected to the leaking of insider information to the general public. It makes me very happy to see that EFF will fight Apple for this one.

Meanwhile, I will be attening MacWorld not only to visit the EFF booth, but also to check out the iPod Shuffle to see if it is really worth what they are saying. For $149, I could walk away with an XBox. Xbox or 1 GB music player. This doesn't seem like a decision that requires much thought, but then again, I'm a video gamer and don't see what's so cool about a 1GB flash drive with play controls. At least Apple was smart and priced it to be competitive with the Scandisk version. Even so, the allure seems gone when for less than double you can walk away with a 5GB iPod mini and five times the songs.…

Stress Causes Sickness

Historically through college, I used this to help me make important decisions such as "do I play Mechassault, or do I work on the paper I don't even know how to start?" Thanks to this, I made it through college and was able to figure out when it was a good time to sacrifice the grades and turn up the social.

I just put last night's pizza square into the toilet, and after taking my temperature, I'm reasonably certain I'm not sick. That and I can't feel my fingertips.…

Shaking Up The Blogging World

January 07, 2005 @ 12:01 am

I have no doubt that dozens of the other weblogs I read will be (or have already been) discussing the 6A acquisition of Livejournal. With this acquisition also came some subtle changes in their Privacy Policy. The most noticable one for me is the new statement:

bq. LiveJournal.com may use or share your personal information where it is necessary for us to complete a transaction, to operate or improve LiveJournal.com and related products and services, to do something that you have asked us to do, or tell you of products and services that we think may be of interest.…
