In the pic above is the wonderful Carrie, who stopped by to drop off a few things and say hi. Since I only see her about six or seven days out of the year, we have a lot of catching up to do. Our time talking was cut short by insurance people, but more on that later.
For the most part, today is over. Although a lot was accomplished today, it was very taxing. I got a little more work done on the California.com stuff, but I still have a long way to go (especially content wise). I also managed to finish my final remake for a while. Although I enjoyed Critical Mass, I got a great idea from staring at a Pepsi can. Inspiration comes from the strangest places. Outside of that, here is how the day progressed.
The morning didn't hold much, since I was pinned down at home waiting for someone to come to repair / fix / whatever they were going to do to our microwave and oven. So I sat here in front of my computer and worked on the website stuff for sh0ck. Come lunch time I had (big shock here) lunch. Then it was back to the grindstone for a bit more. From this point on, all work on my site and on the ca.com site ceased until 9 pm.
My mother came home telling me that my car (which got water in it from the water main incident) needed to have an adjuster person come out and survey the damage. Turns out they couldn't do an evaluation on site, which means I had to stop talking to ChilleD and take my car over there. It took forever, and by the time I got back, it was late. By late, I mean 6:30 pm pacific time. Four hours simply to estimate how much damage was done. By the time I got back, ChilleD had gone offline and I was crushed. Seems the one time out of the week I can catch her during a daylight hour, and something just had to come up. I can't win.
So then there was dinner, and a family discussion about my mother's birthday dinner. We are taking her to a Japanese Restaurant apparently, which is pretty cool. I don't know where yet, but when I do I will let everyone know. Finally, I went and finished updating my site design, and am watching FTP do its magic for me while “Black Planet” by Sisters of Mercy plays in the background. I've liked their music for about 2 months now, when Kirsten told me to listen to them. I have yet to regret it, although I do wonder just how deep this vein of music runs.
Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to put some things in the mail, since I have been meaning to since Monday. Other than that, today looks pretty free, which means I can sleep in a little, do a lot of work on California.com, and still be able to get my errands done and maybe chill with Darth or Thought. We shall see what the day brings.
