Phew, today was long. On the plus side, I am making great progress on my AX costume and have most everything I need for my Fanime one too. Wait, what was that? Jakob doing costumes?

I had to change what costumes, and how to do them, but things are looking up. However, I have learned yet again 10 hard lessons about costumes.

1) You can not spray paint fabric.

2) Kuro's hands (One Piece) are absurdly impossible, but I'm not letting that stop me.

3) You can not spray paint rubber and expect it to stay.

4) My Fanime costume is absurdly simple yet so perfect for my group. For something so absurdly simple, I should not procrastinate on it like I have.

5) You can not spray paint gloves black. (See points 1 and 3)

6) They do not make black gloves that are strong enough to hold a fake katana on each finger, yet flexible enough to bend and stitch on.

7) I need fur to sew onto the backs of the gloves to hide all my mess ups. I should have known it would never go perfect. Mrrow.

8) Crazy glue, while more expensive than hot glue, is the only substance known to the Jakobo that can create harmony between thread, wood, and cotton mesh.

9) Light prop katanas on fingers are much easier to make than full-length broadswords.

10) How people manage more than 1 of these per convention blows my mind.

I hope to have some preliminary pictures so that I can show a bit how I did this.

Going with H tomorrow to help her get a wig, and possibly the pieces for her sword hilt. I'm so glad school is out so I have time to really put my nose to the grindstone on this. I have until Tuesday and than it is back to Monterey for Fanime, and then eventually back here (giving me about a week) to finish Kuro for AX. Phew.

Tomorrow's going to be long.
