It Isn’t Like She Sighed Away

"Scryed" is on the TV, though I am not really watching it and instead tapping on my Pocket PC screen like a little nerd. Dave's family has a wireless network, so I am taking advantage of it to update today and tomorrow on the road. While these won't be as long as a normal entry, you can expect the same great quality (if you call it that).

If it is one thing I have quickly learned, it is that some sites work with PDAs and some of them really don't. The bane of miniature screens is the fixed width table. This doesn't matter until you remember the width of this screen is only 240 and 1024x768 pages start needing some serious scrollbar action. Hopefully, if all goes well, I will find some new and creative ways to make this work. Currently it seems a stylesheet is the way to go. The pocket version of Internet Explorer just outright ignores it.

The drive to Marin was well, though I must admit, following Dave was much harder than I would have imagined. We wove our way north through traffic, across the Golden Gate, and ultimately into the suburb of San Rafael. So far, 1 out of 1 Jakobos agree: all suburbs look the same. Sure, it was apparent that there was more money abound, but these kids played games in the street like anyone else. On the drive, Colin rode with me, while Chris and Michelle rode with Dave. On the drive, I found out some really cool stuff from Colin. Not only is he from Sacramento, not only did he go to Natomas, but he was at Anime Expo and recorded our mini-masquerade skit! I will hopefully be getting a copy to digitize in the next few weeks, which will be cool. The night was amusing, with Michelle and I offering absurd challenges to each other in SSBM.

So now it's morning, and the dawn reminds us all that Scryed and SSBM must be on hold while we run the event today.

So we are on site now, and the turnout is pretty low. By low, I mean my club working makes a sizable portion of the attendance. But there are vendors, and they have spiffy things, so I got a few spiffy things. I also grabbed a few things for friends and made arrangements with a vendor so we could order and get things without shipping. In terms of networking then, it went well. I also may be picking up another web project. I will be submitting a drawing or two to him tomorrow. We ended up leaving a bit early, and ideas of visiting Haight were replaced with a visit to Chris' house.

The visit was well, though long and quiet. We had a nice dinner, and retreated to Dave's house. What tomorrow shall bring will be interesting.
