It Isn’t Like You Read my Thoughts

Today was fun, assuming that fun is in some other language equated to a stab in the leg. I left Ethics today with an emotional limp, mostly because as each day goes on, the class is becoming more aware that Cahil really doesn't know what he is talking about. Today's topic: software piracy. After he was done poking at people's reasons as for why it was "okay", we dabbled a bit in why we do it. I don't mind being called a horrible person (because really at the root of it all, I am), but I do object to an Ethics class in technology spending 2 hours discussing a single point as opposed to the larger issue. I would have rather spent the two hours discussing what about piracy makes it wrong. This is now how the Ethics class goes however. Instead, we get to deal with why we rationalize it, and then be told our rationalizations only cover the fact we are bad people. On the heels of this, we were presented with our layout template for the e-paper. Feast your eyes on FrankenTemplate and be afraid. The concept for the template: 9-11-01.

Don't even get me started there.

Work drug on pretty badly. For only two hours, it was a long two hours. I suppose it was because I was dreading going to JEss' house after I got off. See, I made this agreement to fix her computer, and last time I did that, it had me up until 3 am or so swearing at the infernal machine. For some reason, despite being a computer science major, had a very large dose of fear when I was driving over there. The last thing I wanted to do was spend 8 or more hours because it decided to no longer cooperate. It was actually a really easy fix, and so we spent the rest of the time talking about her teaching job and cutting out things for her next class.

Oh yeah, redid the camportals, and added an apply image. Seemed to fit the theme rather well. Oh, and about today's cam, the picture in the upper right is known as the Splashpad, a device that can recharge devices much the same way you charge an electric toothbrush. For invention week, I propose taking this one more step further. Think, electric power, right from the outlet to your device. Okay, I admit this is on the same level as the Fife (fork with a serrated edge), but it beat pushing for dehydrated water.
