We live in a world with stupid people.
Email from Admissions and Records: IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL CSUMB STUDENTS You will NOT be able to register for classes, if you have not complied with the following applicable immunization requirements.
To which I reply: Was this intentionally sent to all CSUMB students (even those like myself who have been here 3 years now), or is this a request to provide these documents and proof for the fourth time to the CSC and campus health center. Please respond at your earliest available time.
And I get this: Please direct your questions to the Campus Health Center at 831-582-3965. They do not yet have an e-mail address.
So I call and am told this: Well you should check BannerWeb to see if you have a hold placed by the Campus Health Center. If you do, call us back and we will tell you what you are missing.
So I go, I look, and after I have been registered, I have a hold placed because I am somehow missing my Hep B immunization. Just to emphasize how STUPID this is, my Freshman year, two years ago, I had to turn that damn document in 4-5 times, three of which they lost or as they like to say "never received". So now I am pissed. How do you lose someone's immunization record (again) after having it in your possession for almost 3 years? Do you just roll some dice and pick a file at random to shred? So I go right to the source: Admissions and Records. When I explain this to them, they say I need to bring them proof from the Campus Health Center in order to get the hold lifted. So I call the health center again, and tell them I need to know what is in my file. They tell me that my immunization records are in fact in there, and I can stop by to take a copy to Admissions and Records. How I do this from Sacramento, I do not know. I had a better idea.
I ask the person to wait, dial Admissions and Records on my cell's second line, and when they connect, I conference call. I have the health center person tell them my records are fine, I tell them to take off the hold that never should have been there, and I reregister all my classes since apparently a hold removes all the classes you are currently registered for. I got in, but probably only because these are classes only enrolled in by juniors and seniors. I never should have to do all this though.
I am slightly worried that this same Admissions and Records is who I will be filing for graduation with this fall...
