Oh you crazy Fanime, now you've done it. You've done the good things like finally getting the whole convention center to yourself, getting away from the Westin Santa Clara next year, getting a massive location in San Jose, doing a pretty good job of improving your ConOps, and throwing a great Masquerade when you think of how many people you sat down in Exhibit Halls A & B. You even had NDKScott (or as many know him as Scott Anime of Artemis Radio) running your AMV competition flawlessly.
But we need to talk. I saw your infobooth hidden in the dealer's room, and I saw some of those "other things" too. I have been meaning to have this talk with you for a while, you know, like a father-son talk only more like fan-convention talk. I've known you all my Anime life, and you were the first Con I went to.
But you're getting reckless.
May 28-31, 2004 is a bit crazy, especially since you are so close to the Bay Area. I know you are coming into your teens and like all teenagers feel invincible, but that's not always the case. Your crazy So-Cal brother isn't watching out for you anymore, and your little baby brother from Pittsburgh just doesn't want to get stepped on.
I'm not totally sure how you are going to do this either. I mean, you and your surrogate mother Baycon share the same feeding line for your Ops. Wouldn't it be bad to have your events on the same day? I don't see a game plan mister, and it worries me.
I worry because I care about you Fanime. Just be careful, okay?
I'm glad we could have this talk.
