Couple days have gone by now, and it is Wednesday night, almost Thursday morning. Heck, by the time I actually finish this, it just may be Tuesday after all. Especially since Makari, KareBear, Ammerz, and a few others are intending to distract me with evil AIM conversations and pictures of their kittens. See, to explain how evil AIM is, let me state this simple fact. See the words above? That took me an hour to write. Gah! Distractions!
Emma is on a train out to Washington, to bask in the wonders of the new Harry Potter movie. I envy her, since she is going to be hanging with Tycho and Gabe, two of the coolest guys I know. And she is going to be seeing HP. Talk about a sweet deal! Her journal reads that she is gone for now, and will return Sunday. Since I have to wait on the movie, I am sure between her, and Galaxy and everyone else I will know if it is worth a watch or not. I am sure G / T will have a review up eventually. Well, if they decide to get off their butts to do it. They have a history of saying they will do something though, and then maybe doing it if they maybe feel like it. Maybe.
Today was the ICC meeting, and I finished the preliminary version of some worksheets I am going to implement on Friday. I have to meet with a lot of people to get the worksheets approved, but it will be worth it. I'll do almost anything to save me a bit of work in the long run. It won't be saving just me work, however, it will also help Anita with all of her paperwork, and it guarantees that everyone will be turning in things exactly the same. While I'm thinking of it, and before I completely change gears, Spanish class was cancelled today. There is nothing more satisfying than walking to class to meet Lito and Rysk outside and have them tell you class is cancelled for the day. It's a great feeling; I only wish it happened more often. In a nutshell, that wraps up the day and all it was about. So now, it is time to talk about some random thing.
I gave it much thought, and I decided I may dedicate the remained of this post to something fun: Video Games, Computers, and Sex. Okay, so maybe not the last one since I am not really fluent in it, but the first two, well you're in for a treat! Let me start by saying what today is. That's right, XBox Eve! By the time you read this, I will be basking in the glow of goody-awesome-XBox-ness. (And no, not my own, but that of others.) And I will enjoy the true Xbox goodness that comes in only one form. This form is known as Halo. How long have I know about Halo? Well shit, let me think here since I have a 150mb Halo video that previewed at E3, and it is from Sophomore year in high school, so that would make it some four years old or so. I have wanted this game ever since I saw the trailer. It destroyed everything on the market back then, aiming to be the critical product by Bungie that would catapult the GeForce and other NVIDIA cards into übercoolness. That never happened, and some of my friends and I were worried it would go the route of Daikatana - and suck. We were blessed with 3 years of meaningful development. I usually can't say a console game is a reason to get a system. With Halo, I may just make an exception on that. Yes, to answer any potential questions, it really is that friggin' cool. In fact, I would go and get an Xbox if it wasn't for one thing.
This thing is Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, released on the Playstation 2. This is easily one of the most anticipated games, and I am tempted to get it only because I know I could play it in the Student Center at school. And I would go and get that too, if it wasn't for something else.
The Gamecube is coming, and as a loyal Nintendo fan, I want to see it side by side against the other two systems, and I am expecting to be wowed and amazed. It is going to rock the gaming industry, have two "next generation" systems releasing side by side. And one of them is likely to dominate, and we all have no idea which one. Well, some groups are sure it will be the Xbox, but I really do not want to be the one to judge, especially since both systems aren't out yet. I will not deny though that by being first to market, Xbox will likely have an edge. What is going to decide this is the games. Whoever has the most games, the best games, and the fun games is going to be the system that will be the holiday season winner. Me? I want both, but I don't think that is going to happen.
Being of which it is now well into Thursday, I may as well lay out the weekend in advance for everyone. Today is class (Science to be more exact) and work tonight until way too late in the evening. Somewhere in there I have to pack. I am heading home this weekend, taking a four hour drive back to the Sacramento area to take care of some things that need to be taken care of. One of them is my brother's Eagle Court of Honor, which I promised I would attend. He doesn't know this, but I am very proud of him for doing it - sticking with it despite all the crap you get. Hell, I stuck with it too, and I am glad I did. People give you shit about being a "boy scout" and well, while I may not agree with their private organization, I do agree with what they do in terms of community service. More on how people don't grow up later. ~_~
It is about 20 minutes before class, so I really don't have a choice but to end this entry for now, and later (if I feel like it and have the time) I will update this entry. I should be able to update from home, but we shall see how that goes, assuming the computer doesn't break or anything.
I can't believe I am turning off my computer for more than a day. Freaky.
