Shopping (And Stuff)

Yesterday was spent outside and running around, which wasn't all that bad. I got to hang out with people I don't usually hang out with, and while Gravi is on hold until Kari gets off work, it gives me Sunday morning to relax and enjoy. The day started out pretty slow, and gradually picked up over the course of the day. After a quick Costco run, I picked up Sherylen and Sundy so we could run some errands. It was probably because I had a car, but I didn't really mind that much, and after the drive home with Sundy at Winter Break, I kind of wanted to just chill outside of work. Sometimes you forget people are more than colleagues. We hit up first the Asian Market, since Sundy wanted to do egg rolls that night. From there we went to Circuit City, Albertsons, picked up pictures at Target, got food at Jersey's, and then returned to the apartments. After unloading everything, we decided we had one last place to go, the Del Monte Shopping Center.

Now, let me just say, I don't mind shopping. Actually, sometimes, it is something I enjoy. There is something alluring about buying an item of clothing that I A) think looks cool, and B) other people think looks cool. Of course, to achieve the second, it is always good for other people to come along as well. In this way, shopping becomes a social experience. But, I am off track here. Sundy needed to get her glasses straightened in Lens Crafters, so we went there while Sherylen made a bee-line to Victoria Secret. I don't remember how long we were in Lens Crafters but when we came back, Sherylen was still inside. At this point, I really had two choices. Since there was no EB here to lose myself in, and Suncoast was on the complete opposite side of the mall, I could either sit out in the cold and freeze, or go in with Sundy and deal. What I didn't count on was Victoria Secret's "almost everything 50% off" sale. Sundy was sucked in as well, and so I just sort of hung out near her, giving honest opinions when she asked. We were amused by some of the things that were on sale, deciding that a good portion of these things were clearly not meant to be worn all day. Eventually Sundy finished up and made me make sure she didn't buy anything else. We waited idly while Sherylen finished, and then headed out. The last stop we really had was Macy's. Sundy and I wandered the store and looked at boots, clearance racks, and then some. It was good to talk and relax, and I got to partake in something I enjoy far too much and never get to - shop. At some point (after cosplay, conventions, etc settle down) I really need to do a shopping trip for clothes. I have basic stuff, but I lack t-shirts, different kinds of jeans, some new shoes, etc. XD

After Macy's I dropped Sundy and Sherylen off at Sherylen's place and returned to my house to grab some food. Jake was still playing Metroid Prime, and I watched Ridley hand Jake's ass to him not once, not twice, but three times. At this point, Jake gave up for the night, and I hid a smile. One day he will learn the importance of dashing to get away from Ridley when he wants to play tag on the ground. :) I foresee at least a 5 win streak for Ridley. At least. Anyway, Sherylen called because she wanted to have her modem set up, and so I walked over to her place where they were making egg rolls. It was a pretty relaxing night, and I got things set up really quickly. We then just sort of talked and relaxed, and finally Sherylen had us all watch American Idol that she had taped. Now, this would be the first ever time I had seen this program. It was like watching a train wreck. It was so horrible to see these people making idiots of themselves on TV, sucking so bad and thinking they were good because probably the Fox producers told them they had talent at the initial screening. I found myself wondering just how many people the Fox executives brought in to the show, knowing full well they sucked harder than a pool cleaner. Somehow, one of us looked at the clock and we went "Oh, crap! It's already 11!" Of course we didn't really do anything about the fact it was 11. I left close to midnight and walked the short distance back home, where I relaxed and almost fell asleep at the computer. Just to be safe, I had an away message that said I had, but I was too tired to change it when I did crawl up into bed.

Rumor has it today is some big football game. The original plans fell through because of adding a sports bar to the mix, but rumor has it there will be a big party on Saratoga. Um grunt no... not very convincing. I might watch it here at the apartment, and then when Kari gets back, we plan to break out the Gravi. ^_^
