So hot, my fingers stick together

I have yet to grow used to the searing heat that is in the Sacramento Valley (despite 18 years of it), and I already find myself longing for the nice cool weather that was the central coast. More specifically I mean Monterey. While we have yet to hit the triple digits, I am not used to the concept of turning on the air conditioner in my car because it is too hot to roll down the windows. I look at my skin - I am white as bone, and I know that while I can survive nice moist damp conditions, this dry Sacramento heat is killing me. I have two fans on, lights out, door wide open (as well as window) trying to get in every ounce of cooler air I can. And it really isn't helping.

I spent part of this afternoon finishing up some shopping lists so that tomorrow or Friday morning I can hit a bunch of stores and begin the frenzy known as costume building. I also took the evening to refine my resume. I had some stuff to update on it, and a few more skills to add. The downside to doing project or contract based work is that your resume is always changing as you add new skills and stuff to it. So, now I think I am at "actual resume please hire me - will work for anything?" version 2.5. I only say .5 because this is just some minor work I added, namely the completion of Dennis' site, a revision on my personal website information, and some additional work I did for ASAP involving MS Access. I had my parents look over it (because I trust them like that) and I will probably have a few other people glance at it before I actually send it to WOLS where I hope to get some technical related work. crosses fingers I do want to meet with Paul and talk to him though.

Somewhere between dinner and night, I went with Gretchen to go and get tickets for the Kings thing in Arco Arena this Friday. We found out that while there were tickets, there were only going to be the big jumbotrons overhead, and nothing courtside. Our seats were going to be at the corner about five rows back. Now, if the game was actually at Arco, those seats would have rocked. But since we would all be watching the big overhead jumbotrons, those seats sucked. And since it was assigned seating, we decided to pass on the whole "watch Kings @ Arco" thing and are just going to gather the other local Kings fans and have a lil gathering. ^_^

I am now going to find some ice cold things and go combat the heat. I will probably spend tomorrow morning making a few changes to my website and a last few changes to my resume, but other than that, I am above all else hoping tomorrow is just going to be colder.
