Something Amiss

Something isn't quite adding up. The Internet is more quiet than it usually is, certain aspects of the day to day life feel colder, and I feel real uneasy. Call it a hunch, but I'd wager all three of those are somehow connected.

I spent the first part of my Monday making sense out of an insane tasking, and the later part of my Monday making sense out of powerpoints and system administration. On the down side, I feel very mentally and emotionally exhausted. On the up side, George and Nathan's presentation is looking to be very impressive and worthy of the capstone they did. I think these last few weeks / days / eons have taken their toll though, I am longing for a vacation and a chance to just be done with everything. Anyway, let's steer away from angst lane.

I don't understand why in a class of 40 some people who are doing their capstone, only maybe 10 at best are taking the time to present mock-presentations, fine tune their work, and make the best possible presentation they could. Technically, everyone should have spent about six or more months building their final project. The only moment of glory you get is the 7-10 minutes you present it to the rest of the world-- that's it. An entire semester of your CSUMB Learning Experience comes down to seven minutes; I want the best presentation possible. I guess I don't see the counter logic. Some of the ITCD staff, namely Machado have been setting up small presentation groups of five or so people, so that eliminates the big group fear. It's in the presentation room, so that eliminates the location fear. You even get really good feedback for 30-45 minutes, eliminating the "my presentation sucks" fear. We shall see how much this all pays off though, as Thursday is dress rehearsals for the final presentation.

And something still isn't quite adding up.
