Intro to Unix (CST 334) dsullivan at gaia dot nasa dot gov class materials at http://lakshmi.arc.nasa.gov:9518

Right, so here we go. Will append this as we go, live from class. : (For better or for worse)

So the guy is Don, and if I have never seen a more bitter, less enthusiastic, more frustrated at the school professor. I love him already. The first 15 minutes were spent in a combo and complicated rant about how flawed campus security is. After all, we do log in using our SSN. A bunch of people came by to talk with him and calm him down. ^^

Only so many of us can log on at once. It is very funny. Over 30 of us are logged on, and the server limit is 30. You can quickly see how this doesn't work anymore. So about 8-10 people are without the ability to log in. I'm glad I got mine in ahead of time and already knew how to do it. He is talking about the evolution of C as a programming language. I can't believe that this is a 300 level class. Boggles the mind.

Try taking C++ with a teacher that abhors the language and pushes java constantly, a TA that thinks he is god of programming (and add hatred of C++ and his preference of python), and confused, disgruntled students.
Ah, the CS dept must be laughing maniacally at their pure evilness. ;)
